Competitive Swim Teams

Competitive Swim

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) supports competitive swimming year-round through two competitive youth swim teams and one competitive swim training for seniors.

Takoma Park DC Swim Team
The Takoma Aquatic Center is the home of the Takoma Park DC Swim Team, a competitive summer swim team, and one of the founding members of the Prince-Mont Swim League. Teams from the District of Columbia, Montgomery county, Prince George's county, Anne Arundel county, and Charles county make up the Prince Mont Swim League. Learn more about the Takoma Park DC Swim Team by selecting from the links below.

DC Wave
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation "DC Wave" swim team is the District of Columbia’s only nationally competitive public youth swim team for advanced level swimmers ages 5 - 18 years old.  Learn more about the DC Wave swim team by selecting the link below.

Senior Competitive Swim Training
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation provides training for seniors ages 55 and older interested in competitive swimming. Through this training, seniors will learn the proper techniques of DC Senior Games competitive swimming with an emphasis on safety (athletes perform at their own level). Participants will receive constructive feedback and encouragement. Athletes are encouraged to compete in the DC Senior Games and in the National Senior games.
