Parking Enforcement


The Department of Public Works enforces all applicable District laws related to parking, keeps streets and alleys clean, and maintains the District's fleet of service vehicles.

Booting and Impoundment

Vehicles that have two or more unsatisfied parking or photo enforcement tickets that are 60 days old may be booted and towed. All fines and boot/tow fees must be paid before the vehicle is released.

DPW’s Abandoned Vehicle Operations (AVO) inspectors circulate throughout the District looking for abandoned and dangerous vehicles to investigate then remove from public and private property.

Towing

If a vehicle has been ticketed, DPW tow crane operators may tow a vehicle for any parking violation. Typically, DPW tows vehicles that pose a danger to the public or impede the flow of traffic.
