![]() Abandoned and Dangerous VehiclesDPW’s Abandoned Vehicle Operations (AVO) inspectors circulate throughout the District looking for abandoned and dangerous vehicles to investigate then remove from public and private property. ![]() Booting and ImpoundmentVehicles that have two or more unsatisfied parking or photo enforcement tickets that are 60 days old may be booted and towed. All fines and boot/tow fees must be paid before the vehicle is released. ![]() TicketingParking officers write tickets for expired meters and vehicle registrations, missing tags, residential parking violations, and other parking violations. ![]() TowingIf a vehicle has been ticketed, DPW tow crane operators may tow a vehicle for any parking violation. Typically, DPW tows vehicles that pose a danger to the public or impede the flow of traffic.
