Memorial Day Trash and Recycling Collection Schedule Announced

(Washington, DC) In observance of Memorial Day, most Department of Public Works (DPW) services will be suspended Monday, May 29. There will be no city trash or recyclables collection, no street or alley cleaning, no graffiti removal or nuisance abatement. Also, there will be no parking enforcement, including meters, residential and rush hour lane restrictions, and no booting, towing or abandoned vehicle removal on Monday. The Fort Totten Trash Transfer Station will be closed. All services will resume Tuesday, May 30.

Once-weekly (Supercan) trash and recyclables collection will slide one day for the remainder of the week, beginning Tuesday, May 30. In the twice-a-week trash collection area, Monday and Tuesday trash and recycling collection will slide one day. However, Thursday and Friday trash and recycling collections will be made on the regular day.
