Press Release for Immediate Release November 3, 2006 DPW Will Collect Leaves, Trash and Recycling on Veterans Day (Washington, DC) The Department of Public Works (DPW) will collect trash and recycling on the Veterans Day holiday, Friday, November 10. Scheduled leaf collection will also take place. However, DPW offices will be closed and other services will be suspended (no parking enforcement, including meters, and no residential and rush hour lane restrictions), as is typical for a public holiday.
