MuralsDC, a collaboration between the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the Department of Public Works (DPW), is now launching its 15th season of MuralsDC. The program began in 2007 to combat the growing trend of illegal graffiti and beautiful District corridors. DPW is looking for building owners with walls that are in great condition and located in highly visible areas and who would like to donate wall space for this free program.

  • Donated space must be privately owned commercial property (not a private residence but can be a condo with 4 or more units) and located in the District of Columbia.
  • Owners must consent (via a signed Authorization and Release form) to donate wall space for at least one year and leave the mural intact for that year.
  • Donated space must be highly visible from the street.

Property owners can click here to download the Request for MuralsDC Application and Agreement Form to view the Call for Walls and for a list of Frequently Asked Questions. DPW accepts and reviews wall donations year-round.

This year, MuralsDC is also accepting a limited number of exterior wall donations from owners of single family homes in the District. Find out more information on how to have a mural painted on a public-facing wall of your house by reviewing the MuralsDC Home Raffle Application Form.
