Summer Collection Hours

To beat the heat, DPW collection crews will start earlier than normal! Through September, trash, recycling, and food waste collection crews will start at 5:30 AM to avoid dangerous temperatures. Residents can set their cans out beginning at 6 PM the night before their scheduled collection.

Citywide “Truck Touch”



The public is invited to attend a free, citywide “Truck Touch” Saturday, June 6, 2015, from 8 am to 1 pm at RFK Stadium, Lot 7. A host of DC government agencies will present and demonstrate nearly 30 vehicles used to clean and repair streets, change traffic lights, collect refuse, clear snow, provide emergency services, administer mobile health care, and more.

Truck Touch



The District of Columbia Citywide “Truck Touch” will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 8 am to 1 pm at RFK Stadium, Lot 8. The event will feature a variety of free activities for kids and adults.
