Summer Collection Hours

To beat the heat, DPW collection crews will start earlier than normal! Through September, trash, recycling, and food waste collection crews will start at 5:30 AM to avoid dangerous temperatures. Residents can set their cans out beginning at 6 PM the night before their scheduled collection.

Los servicios de saneamiento serán suspendidos por el día festivo y reiniciaran el martes 16 de febrero. 

DPW Offers Options to Dispose of HHW, E-cycling, Personal Documents for Shredding in February 2016

(Washington, DC) The DC Department of Public Works announced today the October 2015 schedule for disposing of household hazard waste, e-cycling and personal documents for shredding at the Fort Totten Transfer Station*. 

Weekly, Saturday HHW and e-cycling drop-off schedule:  February 6, 13, 20 and 27 between 8 am and 3 pm. 

DPW Update on Trash Schedule

WASHINGTON, DC) –The DC Department of Public Works (DPW) is continuing its amended trash and recycling collection service for its residential customers. Post storm collection service resumed Thursday, January 28, and today’s collection is currently in progress. Any missed locations for Thursday and Friday will be collected Saturday and Sunday. Normal collection service will resume Monday, February 1.
