DPW is adjusting or suspending the following services

Ft. Totten is Open
Trash and recycling collection will continue as scheduled.
Residential street sweeping is suspended.
Residential street sweeping (ticket enforcement) is suspended. Rush hour parking restrictions are suspended
Ticketing for safety violations continues.
Ticketing for expired district license plates and inspection stickers is suspended.
Vehicle booting and towing is suspended.
Food waste drop-off is open.

DPW is taking a stand against litter!

We collect large, bulky items by appointment from residential households that receive DPW trash collection service? Items such as mattresses, air conditioners & furniture are accepted. Only 7 items per appointment please.

Do you have the perfect set out?

DPW is looking for residents with the perfect recycling set out. Between April 12 – April 16, Residents with the perfect set out could with a zero waste starter bag. For contest details visit here.

Staying Safe while Dropping Off Food Waste at DC Farmers’ Markets

Food Waste Drop Off will only operate at markets in our program with approved COVID-19 waivers. Market approvals are processed weekly, please check here for updates to the program and locations.

The myDPW app allows residents to receive custom alerts about three of DPW’s services: street sweeping, leaf collections, and booting and towing.

Tow and Boot Electronic Alert Program

District drivers can now receive immediate notification if their vehicle been booted, towed, or relocated. Find out how to enroll in DPW’s new Tow and Boot Electronic Alert Program!
