DPW to Help Residents Prepare for Leaf Collection Season During Live, Web Chat Thursday, October 31 at Noon

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

(Washington, DC) Department of Public Works (DPW) Director William O. Howland, Jr., and the DPW Street and Alley team will hold a live, online chat to announce the annual hiatus of its residential street cleaning service and prepare residents for its leaf removal program on Thursday, October 31, 2013, from 12 pm until 1pm. Residential street sweeping is suspended every fall for public safety concerns and to allow the employees to transition to leaf collection duties, which begin November 4.

Residents are encouraged to join the chat to discuss any past issues with this service and to find out what additional services to expect during the 2013-2014 leaf season.

To participate in the session once it has begun, place dpw.dc.gov/livechat into the search browser, or www.visit dpw.dc.gov and select “About DPW” on the top navigation bar and then “DPW Live Chat.” Transcripts of all chat sessions can be reviewed after the session by following these same instructions.
