DPW Suspends Residential Street Sweeping Around 55th Street, NE and SE Due to Street Paving Project from August 1-10, 2014

(Washington, DC)  The Department of Public Works announced today that weekly mechanical sweeping of certain residential blocks around 55th Street, NE and SE will be suspended August 1-10, 2014 while 55th Street is being repaved. As a result, DPW also will not issue parking tickets to vehicles that remain parked in these blocks during posted street sweeping days.

While repaving is underway on 55th Street, NE and SE, DPW will suspend residential street sweeping on the following streets that intersect or are adjacent to 55th Street, NE and SE:  East Capitol Street, 5500-5600 blocks of Central Avenue, SE; 5500-5600 blocks of Ayers Place, SE and the 100 block 56th Street, SE.  Parking enforcement for violating street cleaning restrictions will be suspended simultaneously.
