The DC Department of Public Works announced today that trash/recycling collection will be suspended today due to police activity and restricted access in the vicinity of the collections yard at W Street, NE. This includes trash, recycling, bulk and dead animal collection. Trash and recycling collection days will continue to slide to the next day due to the Columbus Day holiday and will take place through Saturday. Those with once a week trash/recycling collections that would have taken place today (normally on Tuesday) are asked to hold their trash/recycling until their regularly scheduled day next week. Bulk collections scheduled for today will be rescheduled and those residents will be notified accordingly.
