(Washington, DC) The District of Columbia auction of abandoned vehicles scheduled for Tuesday, March 1, is cancelled due to poor weather. All impounded, auction-eligible vehicles will be carried over to the next auction on Tuesday, March 15.
DC Municipal Regulations state that any impounded vehicle that remains unclaimed for 28 days after notification of the last known owner becomes the property of the District and can be sold at auction or disposed of as scrap.
The city's public auction of abandoned and junk vehicles takes place on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at the Blue Plains Storage and Auction Facility at 5001 Shepherd Parkway, SW.
